Dr. Sydney McLaren Chairman

An Engineer/Project Consultant with a vision for the future is driven by altruistic values for his fellow men.  Under his stewardship practical projects and programmes to address the training needs of Caribbean small farmers have been developed and implemented. His philosophy is "we are never too old to return to school".

Guiding KCDI’s holistic approach to Farm Management and Community Development training has serve to strengthen the NGO sector both local and regional.

 

Donovan McLaren B.Sc., Dip. Proj. Executive Director

 

A Training Consultant and Farmer, Mr. McLaren has pioneered several projects and programmes for rural small farmers and urban inner-city communities. Most noticeable is the Farm Management Training Programme which carries a community development component. This programme was also introduced to the Eastern Caribbean. As Jamaica's NGO Expert who sits on the National Mirror Committee of the Jamaica Bureau of Standards he has represented Jamaica both regionally and internationally at ISO meetings.

In the area of the Judiciary Mr.McLaren a Trained Mediator via the Dispute Resolution Foundation has facilitated several cases from Resident Magistrate Court. His passion for the development of  youth is evident in the youth programmes  he has contributed. A religious man grounded in his faith that he can do all things through God who strength him.

 

Ruth Wilson (Mrs.) Dip.NGO Management (UWI-SCS) Programme Director

 

A Jewelry Designer/Training Facilitator and Registered Farmer, who has designed many noted pieces.

After many years in the industry she now endeavour to give back to the community. As Project/Prgramme Director Mrs. Wilson apply her keen eye for detail towards the design and implementation of projects and programmes under her portfolio.

Most notably the entrance of KCDI’s trainee into the H.E.A.R.T-Trust NTA National  Worldskills Competition which was hosted at the University of Technology Jamaica W.I ., KCDI's trainee secured a gold medal for his efforts. Her hands- on approach has guided the successful implementation of projects and programmes both local and regionally.

Her main area of expertise are the  identifying and formulation of sustainable strategies for social projects and programmes.

 

Mr.Arthur Green B.Sc., J.P., F.S.W.S. Corporate Communication Director

 

A Fellow of the Social Workers Society (F.S.W.S) with many years of service to the sector both national and international. Mr. Green a Financial  Management Consultant and writer for the local media has contributed to the NGO sector in various aspects, Youth Empowerment Programme, Social Development for inner city communities, policy for the local transport sector. As Corporate Communication Director  Mr. Green  speaks on issues which KCDI advocates for farmers namely training, marketing and agro- policies.
